Getting Around Austin
Rideshare services, such as Uber and Lyft, will be your best bet to get around Austin.
Rachel also puts in a good word for the “scoot life” (electric scooters) when traveling short distances.
Getting to Austin
Please see below for a few tips on traveling to Austin.
Traveling by Air
If traveling by air, most major airlines offer flights into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport offers on-site car rentals, and transport into downtown can also be arranged via taxi and other rideshare services, such as Uber or Lyft. Please be aware that if you traveling into town from the airport at rush hour, you may experience significant delays and the drive will likely take 30-45 minutes.
Traveling by Car
For many of our guests, traveling by car may be the best option. If traveling into Austin , I-35 will bring you straight into downtown. Please note that if you are traveling into Austin at rush hour, you may experience significant delays.
Other Modes of Travel
If you are traveling from Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston or San Antonio, you may consider arranging for transit on the Vonlane. These roomy, WiFi-enabled, quiet charter buses (with complimentary snacks and beverages!) are well-equipped and one of our favorite ways to travel between major Texas cities. The Austin Vonlane terminal is located less than a mile from both the South Congress Hotel and The Line. For our Oklahoma guests, the Vonlane recently added an Oklahoma City terminal that travels through Dallas, as well.
